How to Create an Estimate
1. Access the Estimates Section:
- Log in to your account and navigate to the Estimates or Quotes section.
2. Create a New Estimate:
- Click on the "Create New Estimate" or "New Estimate" button to start the process.
3. Enter Estimate Details:
- Business Address and Contact Details: Ensure your business address and contact details are correctly entered. This information will appear on the estimate.
- Title: Enter a title for the estimate, such as "Estimate for [Project/Service]."
- Summary: Provide a brief summary or description of the estimate, outlining the purpose or scope.
4. Upload or Add Logo:
- Logo: If applicable, upload your company’s logo to personalize the estimate.
5. Estimate To:
- Select User or Add Customer: Choose an existing customer from your list or add a new customer if they are not already in the system.
6. Estimate Number:
- Enter a unique estimate number or let the system auto-generate one for tracking purposes.
7. Estimate Date and Expiry Date:
- Estimate Date: Specify the date when the estimate is created.
- Expires On: Set the expiration date for the estimate, after which it will no longer be valid.
8. Add Items to the Estimate:
- Item: Enter the name or description of each item being estimated.
- Price: Specify the price for each item.
- Quantity: Indicate the quantity of each item.
- Total: The total cost for each item (Price × Quantity) will be calculated automatically or manually entered.
9. Calculate Totals:
- Sub Total: The total cost before applying discounts or taxes.
- Discount: Apply any discounts if applicable. Enter the discount amount or percentage.
- Grand Total: The final total after applying the discount. The system will calculate this automatically.
10. Add Footer (Optional):
- Footer: Add any additional notes or terms at the bottom of the estimate, such as payment terms or thank-you messages.
11. Review and Save:
- Review all entered details for accuracy.
- Click on the "Save" or "Submit" button to finalize the estimate.
12. Send or Print:
- You can now send the estimate to the customer via email or print it for physical delivery.
